The California Health Professional Student Alliance (CaHPSA) is a coalition of health professional students who support the California Universal Healthcare Act (SB 810), and we would like to invite you, your organization, and your friends to join us, Monday, January 11th, 11-1pm in Sacramento for our annual Rally in support of Single Payer. This is an especially important window of opportunity because SB 810 will likely be coming out of the Appropriation Committee sometime that week.

If you have questions you can contact me at CaPA.Fellow@PNHP.org or our Rally Day organizing team leader Candice Rugg (ruggorama@gmail.com) who is scheduling our guest speakers. Our schedule has been updated from a previous announcement and is currently:

11:00 – 11:30: Students march from Embassy Suites to Capitol Building, North Steps; Non-student allies meet at the Capitol Building, North Steps.
11:30 – 11:45: Our non-student allies cheer us on as the students approach the North steps

11:45 – 1:30pm: Scheduled speakers including – Senator Leno, chief author of SB 810; Jim Kahn, President of California Physicians’ Alliance; Allan Clark, CSEA; Deborah Burger, CNA; Assemblymember Fong; CARA; Health professional students

1:00 pm: Students begin to filter in to initial legislative appointments.

PDA strongly supports SB810 and Single Payer Healthcare here in California so let’s all keep up the good fight, show our enthusiastic support, and keep on organizing!!
