Progressive Democrats Sonoma County endorsed the following candidates running for local office in the June 2010 election:
Pam Torliatt – Sonoma County Supervisor, 2nd District
Debora Fudge – Sonoma County Supervisor, 4th District
Jamie Thistlethwaite – Superior Court Judge, Office #3
In addition, the committee issued endorsements in state-wide races for:
Dave Jones – California State Insurance Commissioner
Noreen Evans – California Senate, 2nd District
Michael Allen – California State Assembly, 7th District
Debra Bowen – California Secretary of State
Lynn Hamilton, Chair of Progressive Democrats Sonoma County, said “these endorsed candidates stand out for their passion and commitment to progressive values of government that is controlled by citizens, not corporate elites, with policies that serve the broad public interest, not just private interests; our endorsed candidates stand for peace and justice for all.”
Progressive Democrats Sonoma County also recommended these votes on the June 2010 ballot initiatives:
Proposition 13: Limits on Property Tax Assessment: Vote NO
Proposition 14: Elections Increases right to participate in Primary elections (sic – Open Primary) Vote NO
Proposition 15: California Fair Elections Act: Vote YES
Proposition 16: Imposes new two-thirds voter approval requirement for local public electricity providers: Vote NO
Proposition 17: Allows auto insurance companies to base their prices in part on a driver’s history of insurance coverage: VOTE NO
