Cosponsored by Progressive Democrats Sonoma County and Labor Notes
Hosted by Nancy Dobbs, Norman Solomon, David Grabill, Peter Phillips, David Walls, Tony White, Cal Winslow, and Alice Chan. (partial list)

NUHW is the new California union that was born after SEIU imposed a disastrous trusteeship on United Healthcare Workers-West, its third largest affiliate, in late January.

Since then, NUHW has filed election petitions seeking to represent more than 100,000 care-givers in the private and public sector —-one of the largest organizing initiatives anywhere in the country.

On the job and in the community, NUHW is building a different kind of union, run by and for the rank-and-file.

All friends of union democracy and reform are urged to attend this lively and informative discussion. It will include a report on the latest developments involving embattled members of UNITE HERE who are resisting SEIU intervention in their union as well.
